Jubilee leaders seem to think so.
In a meeting in Mombasa on Sunday, the leaders asked Cord to stop protecting drug warlords in their coalition.
Led by National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale, the leaders said some opposition leaders were benefitting from world drug trade proceeds.
“Opposition leaders should stop protecting those behind the menace simply because they happen to come from their political outfit,” said Duale.
Duale challenged opposition leader Raila Odinga to speak up about the menace in the meeting at Changamwe grounds which was attended by Deputy President William Ruto.
Others in the meeting were Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya, Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung'aro and his counterparts Kilifi South’s Mustapha Idd and Khatib Mwashetani from Lunga Lunga.
Ruto said investigations on those still engaging in the illegal business were being carried out so that they can face justice.
“Youths should stop being misused by drug lords to engage in the illegal businesses because their families will suffer when those misusing them have their children in good schools,” he added as quoted by the Standard.
This comes a week after the extradition of the Akasha brothers to the US in what Ruto said was the beginning of a collaboration between Kenya and other countries to stop drug trafficking.
