The CORD coalition formed by three parties namely New Ford Kenya, Wiper party and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) seems to have reached its end as the continuous disagreements between the parties develop.

On Tuesday, the Wiper and ODM parties denied having any agreement with the new FORD Kenya party. This shows how the party will soon split.

Recently, New Ford Kenya party’s leader, Moses Wetang’ula launched his presidential campaign. The CORD leader Raila did not show up for the event which had people talking. He afterwards apologised to Bungoma senator, Moses Wetangula for missing his presidential launch. However, Raila did not give any reason for missing the launch.

The coalition now seems to have more conflict as the party leaders want to be the presidential flag bearers.

Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party accused the ODM party of turning its back on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2013. The MoU stated that Raila was to leave the powers to Kalonzo.

These disagreements might seem petty to many but small cracks surely lead to the fall of the wall.

One of the Kibera residents had something to say about the matter.

‘‘When a party starts to have such cracks, it might lead to its collapse. If the CORD leaders do not settle this mess on time, they might miss their target,’’ said Victor Onyango.
