Jubilee Party head of secretariat Raphael Tuju has described the defection of former TNA Party Secretary General Onyango Oloo to the Opposition Party ODM as 'a retreat to tribal politics', the Star has reported.
In a statement on Wednesday, the former Rarieda MP noted Jubilee Party is open to all Kenyans to join irrespective of their tribes.
"It is sadly evident that through choosing to move to ODM specifically, he has reverted to tribal politics, something the Jubilee party firmly opposes and we can only speculate that he does so in a bid to use tribalism to win a local seat," Tuju said.
"The adoption of tribal politics is totally against the vision of the Jubilee party which welcomes members from all tribes and promotes politics of mutual respect and unity," he added.
Oloo is reportedly set to vie for the Kisumu Central parliamentary seat. He has been a fierce critic of the ODM Party leader Raila Odinga prior to his defection to the Opposition.
