Men and women have both ascended to the same heights in the corporate space. [Photo/blackenterprise.com] Gender equality is a sensitive subject that has men beating their chests and women constantly raiding the streets in protest. Some men claim to have a higher standing than women which makes them superior while women vehemently disagree and claim equality. But are men and women really equal?
Whether they're equal depends on what respect is being looked at. Honestly, men and women cannot be equal in all respects. They even have many different physical features! The most central issue is ability. Women's abilities have been compared to men's over time. The women have claimed that they have as much education, IQ, skill, wit and determination as their counterparts. It might be what birthed the phrase 'What a man can do, a woman can do.' Many women have ascended to the heights of excelling at academics, medicine, politics, science, research, business and agriculture. Matters like provision that were thought to me a male role have been strongly challenged. Many women in all social classes work hard and can feed, clothe, shelter and fully take care of their expenses. The matters that are unequal between men and women are ones which don't qualify either as more worthy. It's just the physical, psychological and emotional make-up that's different. It may create different methods, reactions and feelings about things but it doesn't make any lesser or better. Actually, it plays a complementary role in society.
