Muranga County Senator Irungu Kangata has made his latest intervention in the 'Maraga removal'' debacle in the wake of a petition by a little-known lawyer to parliament seeking the removal of certain Judicial Service Commission (JSC) members.
The MP has denied knowledge of a Jubilee-initiated scheme to oust Chief Justice David Maraga from the JSC.
''The fact is, so far I am not aware of any official Jubilee plan to kick out Mr. Maraga. However, that does not mean that we support the Judiciary as led by Maraga,'' the senator said.
Senator Kangata, however, made the point that the Judiciary was not working in the interest of Kenyans.
There has been speculation that the Jubilee Party is keen on doing away with Chief Justice David Maraga for allegedly being partisan.
In the wake of the annulment of his reelection, President Uhuru talked about revisiting the decision.
