Even President Uhuru Kenyatta could not hold back having her become the Africa Union’s Secretary General.

In case Amina leaves the government, who will replace her and continue her stellar performance?

There is a possibility Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka could be the replacement.

Born Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka on December 24, 1953 he was Kenya’s Vice-President from 2008 to 2013.

Prior to that, Musyoka served in the government under President Daniel arap Moi and was Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1993 until 1998. He occupied the same docket under President Mwai Kibaki from 2003 to 2004.

Musyoka is also the Chief Commissioner for The Kenya Scouts Association.

With his diplomatic career having been tried and tested, will he replace Amina if she lands the AU post?

If that day comes, Musyoka who has been accused of not doing much despite being in government for close to three decades will have very big shoes to fill.

The former VP could re-join government which could save him from contesting for the Cord presidential flag bearer position. This could also dent Cord’s chances of taking the government in the next 10 months.

With rumours that Musyoka has been secretly frolicking with some Jubilee Party’s top officials, it is only a matter of time before we know how the end game will be.

In a photo making rounds on social media, Musyoka is seen at a private forum with Onyango Oloo, The National Alliance (TNA) Party Secretary General sparking speculation that the former VP could be headed to Jubilee.

This comes a day after a video surfaced showing Deputy President William Ruto hinting that Jubilee was ready to accommodate Kalonzo.

“Ata Juzi mumeona Kalonzo amesema yeye ako na options… Kwa sababu ile ya mgawanyiko iko na kisirani… sasa nyinyi ata mkiona option... option ni gani?" said the DP.

Musyoka got into active politics in 1983 when he vied for the Kitui North Constituency parliamentary seat in but was defeated.

Two years later, the Kitui North seat was vacated and Musyoka won the subsequent by-elections becoming an MP at the age of 32.
