Despite failing in his bid for Nairobi governor, Miguna Miguna seems to have reinvented his political career.Miguna is one the NASA politicians who have been very critical of the Jubilee administration. The self-declared NRM (NASA wing) general is one of Raila Odinga's key political lieutenants keen to give President Uhuru Kenyatta's government a hard time.Known for his combative approach to politics, the outspoken Canada-trained lawyer is simply unstoppable. As the opposition stepped up its preparations for Raila’s swearing-in on January 30, the former Raila advisor was one of the key lawyers that lay the ground for the event. On the D-day, Miguna administered the oath to Raila alongside Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang'.This is despite warning from Attorney General Githu Muigai that anyone who takes part in the oath ceremony will be charged with treason. After the swearing in, he maintained a low profile for the better part of Wednesday only to reemerge later allaying fears that he might have been arrested. On Thursday, he stepped up his fight against the Jubilee government when he ordered NASA supporters to burn Uhuru’s portrait and replace them with that of Raila. While defending his decision to take part in Raila’s oath ceremony, Miguna dared Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i to arrest him, and even dismissed the government's recent decision to outlaw NRM.He may not have that political clout but Miguna has confirmed that he is a thorn in the Jubilee’s flesh.
