His fearless stand, tricky political decisions and the financial muscle has refined Muthama into a special politician from Ukambani.
The former Kangundo MP speaks his mind whenever he feels like. This has landed him in trouble severally including incitement cases. He fights the mighty from State House to his Ukambani homeland.
Muthama makes decisions that are rare in the political cycles. He chose not to defend his senatorial slot; something that he was almost sure of retaining.
This has however given him an opportunity to make good use of his direct approach to issues especially in NASA and NRM.
He also publicly denounced his support for his former party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. He has however maintained his strong support in Ukambani and the country at large.
The former senator understands Kenyan politics extremely well. He makes opposition supporters crazy as he speaks. Johnson Muthama is a leader who is loved and hated in equal measure.
