Sources say that Mutua’s Maendeleo Chap Chap could soon be part of President Kenyatta’s newly launched party.

Sources further claim that some Ukambani politicians allied to Jubilee Party are convincing and wooing governor Mutua to merge his party with JP.

Former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile is said to be leading the talks to woo Mutua’s party to join Jubilee.

On Tuesday during a tour of Kitui County, Mutua hinted that he will support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s 2017 re-election bid.

The governor said that he will work with leaders who are keen to address problems facing Ukambani especially poverty. The Machakos county boss said that the region has been sidelined on development and need leaders who will transform it.

“As Maendeleo Chap Chap we are going to work and associate with leaders who have a vision for Kenyans,” he said.

Mutua said that his movement that is already registered as a party will field candidates in the coming 2017 polls.

The Governor ,however said the party will not have a presidential candidate in 2017 but said that the party will field a presidential candidate in 2022.

Mutua who early this month announced bid for 2022 presidential seat during a delegates conference at KICC in Nairobi said that his party agitates for equality, fairness, justice and development.

Mutua’s critics have been accusing him of forming the party to divide Kamba community.

He  has also been labeled as a rebel by Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party for having links with the Jubilee party.

The Machakos governor is among the seven Wiper rebels who snubbed party summons last week.

Mutua has been summoned by Wiper’s disciplinary committee to explain his links with Jubilee and why he has formed a party yet he has not resigned from Wiper party.
