I know it is too early to speculate or even deem the current tragedy as a bad omen, but the questions are being asked.
Are the Nyeri gubernatorial seat and the county cursed?
The first governor died before his term was over. The late Governor Gachagua passed on in February this year while undergoing treatment in a London hospital. He was fighting pancreatic cancer.
Now, Governor Gakuru has lost his life in a tragic road accident.
It is with such events within a one year period that those who are superstitious believe there is something more to the set of events concerning the two late governors and the county of Nyeri. How is it possible for the two men to pass on in such a short time period?
Those who do not believe in superstition say it is a mere coincidence that the two great men passed on in the same year.
Either way, there needs to be some occasion or event either led by the Church or by Kikuyu elders to ward off any other similar incidences from occurring. Such an event will also bring the county together after the death of Governor Gakuru.
