Jubilee Party Mombasa gubernatorial hopeful Suleiman Shahbal has told Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho to brace himself for a tough political battle during the August polls.
Speaking on Saturday shortly after inspecting the Tononoka grounds ahead of the Jubilee Party grand rally on Sunday, Shahbal further claimed that Opposition Party ODM's popularity could be fading in the Coast region, adding that the residents are tired of empty rhetoric by the Opposition.
"Those who keep saying Coast is 'Corded' should continue dreaming until the Jubilee Tsunami sweeps the region starting tomorrow," he said.
He also dismissed ODM's planned parallel rally at Mvita grounds, terming the move "inconsequential."
“Let them (ODM party) hold their rally. We have no problem with that. They can even hold 10 rallies. Last time we held a rally here, the whole of Mombasa attended," he said.
“They went and held their mini-rally in Mtwapa and claimed it was a parallel rally. We don’t care about their music and noise," he added.
Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho is expected to lead the ODM Party during the rally.
