Her name? Ogla Karani.Ogla Karani was born and bred in the undulating terrains of the picturesque Cherang'any hills in Elgeyo Marakwet County. She has a background in Counselling Psychology.Her journey to political life must have been inspired by her own dad's engagement in the then Elgeyo Marakwet County Council early in the 80s.Ogla Karani joins a breed of women in NASA who are not afraid to stick their necks out in the heat of things. Esther Passaris, Millie Odhiambo, Gladies Wanga among others are her peers in the struggle. She is unapologetically pro-Raila in her discourse and has earned the reputation of courting serious controversy in her occasional TV interviews.Prior to joining NASA, Ogla Karani had a short stint with DP Ruto in his URP outfit. It is not yet known what made her decamp from Ruto's United Republican Party.Ogla Karani is a staunch Christian, a trait she must have inherited from her mother who is a staunch member of the African Inland Church.
