Following an incident where social media users are being conned over fake police recruitment exercise, the National Police Service on Saturday morning issued the below clarification.
"BEWARE OF FRAUDSTERS
The National Police Service wishes to inform the general public that we have not announced any Police recruitment dates.
When recruiting, we publicize the exercise via major dailies, radio stations, television and also share the same information on our website and social media accounts/pages.
However, we have received reports of fraudsters targeting innocent members of the public and extorting money from them in the name of helping them secure employment in the service.
We wish to caution the public that we have not announced any recruitment dates and no fee is required for one to be recruited into the service.
Appropriate action will be taken to ensure that the culprits are brought to book."
