Opposition party ODM officials have accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of deliberately sabotaging Turkana governor Josphat Nanok and his Mombasa counterpart Ali Hassan Joho.

Led by Suba MP and ODM National chair John Mbadi, the officials cited the recent public outbursts by the head of state during his visit to the two counties, saying the party cannot allow any further intimidation of its leaders by the Jubilee administration.

"President Uhuru should declare his interest in Mombasa and Turkana counties. He must tell us why he is hell bent on frustrating and sabotaging the governors of these two counties and why he is sending anonymous people to trail them," Mbadi said in an address to the media on Monday.

"Uhuru Kenyatta must stop issuing utterances that are inflammatory, derogatory, unpresidential and utterly contemptuous of other leaders," he added.

Mbadi further urged President Kenyatta to exercise self-restraint whenever he is agigated, noting that the Presidency should be a symbol of National Unity.

"As the head of state, the President is the symbol of national unity and must, at all times, uphold integrity of the presidency and respect the two levels of government as provided for in the constitution," he noted.

He was accompanied by MPs Junet Mohammed (Suna East), Abdikadir Ore (Wajir West), Gladys Wanga (Homa Bay, woman representative), Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba),  Abdikadir Ore (Wajir West) and AbdikadirAden (Balambala).
