[Photo: Citizen Digital]When Nasa flag bearer Raila Odinga went to the Supreme Court on Friday, 30 minutes shy of the constitutional deadline, expectations among many supporters increased.Others felt that Raila took the wrong path by going to the same court that 'denied' him victory in 2013.That said, whichever path that Nasa supporters or leaders opt for is sure to be felt. A case in point is former Nairobi Governor Evan Kidero's concession of defeat and eventual handing over of power to Jubilee's Mike Sonko. This was evident during Sonko's inauguration on Monday, where even the Nairobi Woman Rep-elect Esther Passaris was in attendance. However, the attendance of the two Nasa bigwigs in Nairobi County may have dealt Nasa a big blow politically.Kidero's concession is seen to mean that he has finally agreed, despite earlier contestation, that the gubernatorial election was free and fair. Passaris' attendance of the same function, on the other hand, may be seen to mean that she accepts Sonko's administration and is ready to work with it.Nevertheless, while these may be positive gestures to Nairobi residents, the same might be detrimental to the NASA flag bearer's quest for presidency via the Supreme Court. As political pundits put it, every concession by any of Raila's strong men/women, 'only serves to weaken his Supreme Court case irrespective of evidence that will be presented'.
