If indeed what Mutahi Ngunyi is alleging through his twitter handle is true, then this would qualify as the foulest betrayal of the National Resistance Movement by its General-in-Chief, Raila Amolo Odinga. In a move that was geared to paralyze companies which have been in an unholy union with the Jubilee regime, NRM announced a raft of measures which included, but not limited to, throwing away of Safaricom lines.
It became a politically correct exercise for NASA leaders to call the press to witness the ritual throwing of the green cards as they acquired the reddish airtel ones. So, when a reputable man of Mutahi Ngunyi's stature comes with a revelation that baba's Safaricom line is still receiving calls, messages, and Mpesa, it becomes rather disheartening for the N.R.M rank and file who hoped that the top echelons of the party would lead the struggle from the forefront. Any struggle has sacrifice. The most difficult part of a struggle is for one to be able to abandon the comfort of the bourgeois world and substitute it with the ruggedness of the bush.Baba must come clean on this. He must explain to the NASA faithful why his line, and that of other liberators, is still blinking green.
