Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed dismissed reports that NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga is planning to pull out of the October 26th presidential election.

According to Junet, Raila has the numbers to win a presidential election and thus cannot chicken out of the presidential race.

The legislator further disagreed with the idea that Raila's forthcoming trip to London is a proof of him abandoning his presidential bid pitting him against Uhuru Kenyatta of Jubilee party.

"Raila Odinga is not chickening out of the presidential race. He has the numbers to win a presidential race and his trip to London is not a justification that he is pulling out of the race," Junet said.

Junet, however, maintained that NASA's position is that IEBC reforms must be undertaken before the October election failure to which there will be no election on the set date.

"NASA's irreducible minimums still stand before the October election. If they are not met then there will be no election. The election must be conducted in each and every constituency in the country for the president to be validly elected as defined by the constitution," added Junet.

The MP made the remarks in response to Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomenwho alluded that Raila Odinga is planning to drop out of the October presidential election.
