NASA leader Raila Odinga during a past function. (photo/the-star.co.ke)While attending the burial of the late Francis Nyenze, Raila Odinga declared to all who cared to listen that he is indeed not afraid of dying in the process of bringing political reform in the country.Yet it really baffles as to whether Raila meant every drop of word he uttered. Is he really ready to die for a cause he believes in?
From a psychoanalytical point of view, those who shout about a particular thing rarely do it.
Raila has persistently sworn that he will swear himself in. The question is: why hasn't he done it already? If Raila is indeed brave as he alleges, he should simply walk into a podium of some sort and bellow the hallowed words saying," I, Raila Amolo Odinga, do solemnly swear...".The melodramatic rants of " I will swear myself in" must be translated into meaningful action. That he has persistently failed to translate his pronouncements into action leads to only one logical conclusion: Raila is afraid to die for the struggle.
The warning from the Attorney General Githu Muigai should not be taken lightly. There is only one consequence of any treasonable act: death.
If Raila opts to put a rope around his neck, it will definitely be the worst ending to an illustrious career by the doyen of Kenyan politics.Help me in shouting the famous words to comrade Raila; I choose life!
