Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has accused a section of Jubilee Party operatives of a plot to lock him out of the party's primaries in favour of his archrival Peter Kenneth.
Speaking on Thursday during an interview with Radio Maisha, the flamboyant Senator who is also eyeing the Nairobi governorship seat further hinted at ditching Jubilee Party for the Opposition in case Jubilee denies him the party's ticket.
“If Nasa assures me of a party ticket, I will have no choice but to join them. Nasa is a coalition of people, not devils, same thing to Jubilee so there is no problem if I join them,” the Daily Nation quoted him.
“All I want is for the governor of Nairobi to come from Jubilee. And if they come to me and say that they want to reach a consensus, I will do it. I will be an independent and honest broker,” he added.
Sonko further dismissed any possibility of working with Kenneth in the race for Nairobi's top seat.
Both are looking to unseat ODM's Evans Kidero.
