The Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) officials in Uasin Gishu county have reiterated that they still recognize Wilson Sossion as their Secretary general. This is despite his de-registration by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).According to the Chepkoilel KNUT Executive Secretary Sammy Bor, TSC's move was illegal, inconsequential and ill intended."As KNUT officials from this region we fully recognize Sossion ad our Secretary General and any attempts to remove him are an exercise in futility," Bor said in Eldoret, Thursday."We are the ones who elected him and we are the only ones who can fire him," he added.Similar sentiments were shared by Eldoret West KNUT Executive Secretary Kipchumba Arusei who asked the government to stop intimidating their union officials."We will not allow our leader to be harassed and intimidated," he said.TSC recently deregistered Sossion together with Kuppet chairman Omboko Milemba following their involvement in politics.Sossion was nominated into the National Parliament by ODM while Milemba won the Emuhaya Parliamentary seat.To be the first to get updates on breaking and trending news in Kenya, send your WhatsApp number to 074094990.
