Government Spokesperson Erick Kiraithe has reiterated the government's commitment to a free, fair and credible elections.
Speaking on Wednesday during an address to the media, Kiraithe announced that the government has put in place key measures to ensure that the electoral process is transparent.
“The Government is committed to ensuring that the electoral process is done as per the Constitution," he said.
“In general, the entire government machinery has been mobilised to render any support required to guarantee a democratic, credible and peaceful electoral process,” he added.
He further challenged relevant stakeholders including the civil society to actively work with the government, as the country gears up to the next general elections slated for August 8.
“We would like to remind political parties, the civil society and all institutions of governance in Kenya that the responsibility of delivering constitutional, democratic, credible and peaceful elections is not sole responsibility of the IEBC,” he said.
