Former Devolution CS and Kirinyaga gubernatorial hopeful Anne Waiguru has accused the Opposition of plotting her political downfall by linking her to the National Youth Service scam.
Speaking on Sunday shortly after attending a church service at Karira Catholic Church, Waiguru claimed that the Opposition had waged a malicious graft war against her, adding that she is ready for a lifestyle audit as directed by the Public Accounts Committee of the National Assembly.
“The Opposition framed me because it wanted me kicked out of the Jubilee government. If PAC and the Opposition have something else against me; I’m ready to be investigated further,” the Daily Nation quoted her.
“After failing to fix me in the NYS scandal, the Opposition is spreading propaganda that I have been barred from contesting the gubernatorial seat," she added.
Waiguru was implicated in the NYS scandal, where she was accused of engineering the theft of over Ksh1billion.
She is seeking to replace Kirinyaga governor Joseph Ndathi in the August polls on a Jubilee Party ticket.
