The decision by the former governor of Meru, Peter Munya, to withdraw a case challenging Kiraitu Murungi's election as governor has fueled speculation that he may be headed to President Uhuru's kitchen cabinet.

Munya said that the move was made in respect to the president who requested him to withdraw it.

Lawyers representing Munya said that they had every intention to withdraw the case before December  4.

Munya and Kiraitu, sworn political enemies until now,  have pledged to work together for the success of Meru County, observing that the back and forth threatened to undermine Meru County.

President Uhuru is expected to do away with ministers who served in his first term and replace them with new faces.
