The name of Dr Paul Otiende Amollo has been on everyone's lips over the past few weeks, thanks to his involvement in NASA coalition's court battles challenging the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Dr Amollo who made a name for himself as a staunch human rights crusader resigned from his position at the helm of the Commission on Administrative Justice- Ombudsman in July 2016 to join politics.
His political career has started on a bright note after he easily bagged the Rarieda MP seat on his first attempt.
And to many, he may be the next big thing in Luo Nyanza politics which has been dominated over years by Raila Odinga, James Orengo and Anyang' Nyong'o.
Watching Dr Amollo argue in court for his party leader Raila Odinga, one can easily say that the veteran human rights activist is making a name for himself in Nyanza politics, just like Kethi Kilonzo did in 2013, though her political journey was cut short even before take off.
Already a darling to many, Dr Amollo who was a a Member of the Committee of Experts that drafted the 2010 constitution is now using his legal expertise to endear himself to the residents of Rarieda, a constituency which has had a record of electing a new member of parliament after every five years.
