Political realignments are already in the making ahead of the approaching 2022 general polls.
The much anticipated race, however, is the presidential contest, with alliances set to soon emerge, putting Kenyans and the political class on the look.
The most likely alliance is a union bringing on board opposition leader Raila Odinga and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.
The Senator was initially enlisted among the hard sells to Odinga and vice versa as a result of the political enmity between his father retired President Daniel Moi and the former Premier.
Moi will be more than willing to join the former premier's team to get back at Deputy President William Ruto whom he seeks to outdo in their ongoing tussle for the vote-rich Rift Valley region.
It will be hard for him to join the DP as a result of their past collisions and will be more comfortable with the Orange party chief as he is likely to be subjected to revenge mistreatment in Ruto's quarters.
Basing on his political ambitions and the obvious desire to take after his father as the president of the country some day, Moi will be safe in the hands of the aging Luo kingpin who could endorse him upon his now nearing retirement.
The veteran leader, on the other hand, will be happy to have Gideon on his side as he seeks to bite into Ruto's Kalenjin vote basket to strengthen his bid, should he vie.
