Details have emerged that could point to a discord brewing in Kiambu county between Governor Ferdinand Waititu and his Deputy James Nyoro over the running of the county.
This happened on Sunday at ACK Kabete where Waititu, Nyoro and other Kiambu MPs had attended a church service graced by the Deputy President William Ruto. When given a chance to speak, Waititu said, "Now let me invite my Deputy Dr Nyoro although he is always scolding me."This was to the surprise of everyone at the church service. On receiving the mic, Dr Nyoro shunned Waititu's moves to wash dirty linen in public. The two were later summoned by the Deputy President who asked them to resolve their disputes amicably without involving the public. He also said that their discord would be a disgrace for the President who hails from the county. The union between the two was one of convenience to remove former governor William Kabogo from his position ahead of the April 21 party nominations.Waititu aka Baba Yao is street wise while Nyoro is a former adviser in the office of Deputy PresidentThe power deal between the two involves sharing senior appointments such as County Executive Committee (CEC) members.
