I've been finding it funny to see a handful of people sympathise with Wetangula and lie to him that he can be a force to recon in the Kenyan politics. The man even believes, or pretends to, that he can become a leader outside of the Bungoma expanse. What a laughable thing countrymen!
Wetangula cannot become anything beyond the Kaburengu junction near Webuye. By ‘anything’ I mean anything in the capacity to convince even the youngest naive child, that he can stand somewhere and give direction to a focused generation. Unless he wants to go to Tokyo and buy land where to erect billboards.
Let us say the least. Moses was born of a good family in 1956. Then he goes to school and after Kamusinga he is said to have joined University of Nairobi. Then he scavenges leadership and it is in 2002 that he first ascends to political power through ballot and other people’s help. Then he grows through 2007/8 and come 2016, he now sees the crowds in Cord as his. Whenever Cord holds a rally at Uhuru Park or Tononoka, Moses looks on with the satisfied eye of the eagle and tells himself Papa you are becoming ‘Prestend’.
To make things even funnier, he stands on those podiums and lectures innocent Kenyans on democracy and leadership and now the alleged dictatorship in Cord!
A moment of silence for this our man.
Moses supported the evil cartels of power when Kenya needed change the most. He comes now to lament to us how Kenya has always had leadership coming from one community and that we should change our ‘Central’ post. Where were his eyes in 2007 when he was dancing in the flowerbeds at Muthaiga, and then at State House in 2008? Where were his eyes when Othaya was flooding him with tea with milk?
On a good day, we may forgive him if he says he thought Kibaki was from Mombasa or Lodwar. But this day is not a good day. Kenya’s day ceased to be good when cartels of corruption decided to overlook the blood of the innocent Kenyan. With the Kibaki machinery, Moses helped loot all the light in Kenya’s day until we are left with no option but look at issues the way they are. What Imbuga calls black and white. And the hard truth we see on him is nothing but very sad.
The man stands in history as the forefront dancer from Western Kenya in the team that swore in a self-declared president in the middle of the night. Nights are a time to sleep, not to hang around people even when we have the greediest hunger for power. Where he comes from, only four things happen at night: making children, counselling of a battered husband, burial of a man who committed suicide and night running. He should tell us which of those he was in 2008 before coming to think he can be president.
As people shed blood all over Kenya, Moses was busy clapping his hands sore and hoarsing his voice seeking to be recognised and honoured in the night. And he was honoured.
Minister for Foreign Affairs. This was on January 8. We may not want to go into finer details of how the Tokyo Embassy land was later purchased even after the Japanese had been kind enough to give us free land. We may decide to be good Kenyans and focus on him here on the Kenyan soil because we don’t know if the Japanese jurisprudence allows diplomats to hold midnight land deals. That is for Japan to decide.
On this 8th day of January, at the time he is being rewarded, about 600 people are already dead and more are to die. The political temperatures in the country are high. About 250,000 are feared displaced and more are to be displaced in the day and its morrow. But our Moses clings onto the despotic regime and struggles to keep PNU afloat. He fearlessly represents the idea that Kibaki has won and that the over half of the Kenyan population standing with ODM are either liars, mad, or both.
Some Cord supporters, because of their myopic sight, decided to later sing praise to the Bungoma man until he thought he was the next captain. I mean, Cord overlooked the contribution of others and used all their airtime glorifying Moses in a blind hope that he was to bring the Western support to sail the children to Canaan. What they forgot was that Moses himself wanted to get into that Canaan first, not to die on a mountain somewhere in the outskirts of the city.
Anyway, Cord made him what he is. Or he made Cord what it is. In the next two months we should know who unmakes the other.
