According to Oparanya, Wetangula has been disrespectful to him in his political rallies while campaigning for Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale who is eyeing the county's gubernatorial seat.

The ODM Deputy Party leader, however, expressed optimism that despite the attacks by the Bungoma Senator, he would still emerge victorious in the August polls.

“Senator Wetang’ula should stop showing disrespect to me during his campaign rallies in Kakamega. Let him know that voters in Kakamega will have the final says on m their next governor will be and his attacks on my administration are a waste of time,” he said.

The governor was speaking on Tuesday at the County Headquarters.
