Nominated Member of Parliament Isaac Mwaura has parted ways with Raila Odinga’s ODM and joined Jubilee Party.
Mwaura who has been in the Orange Democratic Movement for four years met Raila Thursday afternoon and briefed him why he was joining President Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp.
“I’ve today, most respectfully, informed my party leader, Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga, of my decision to work closely with H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta,” the legislator posted on social media.
He added that he arrived at the decision after consulting the people of Ruiru.
“This is after extensive consultation with the people of Ruiru and as they say, all politics is local. I remain most grateful and honoured for the special consideration by my Party Leader to nominate me to represent special interests in Parliament and also having served in his office as Advisor on special interest groups,” he said.
Mwaura has been ‘working closely’ with Jubilee recently, but had not made official his political move.
“I most consciously appreciate H.E President Kenyatta’s determined inclusion of historically disadvantaged groups in national agenda and resources allocations. This is what my agenda was when I sought to join Parliament and a lot has been achieved so far,” said.
The MP also said he will contest for Ruiru Parliamentary seat come 2017.
“As I set my eyes on Ruiru Parliamentary seat, I will carry diversity and inclusion in my broad agenda of serving the people faithfully, fearlessly and without favour,” he said.
