Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto was on Friday officially received by Jubilee Party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto defected from National Super Alliance (Nasa), which he joined as a principal, in April this year.

Speaking at Kapkatet Stadium after joining Jubilee, Ruto said he will support the president and his deputy William Ruto ahead of the repeat presidential election.

“I have come back to support the president and his deputy,” Ruto said.

Ruto lost his seat to Jubilee’s Joyce Laboso in the August elections.

DP Ruto urged the former governor to fold his Chama Cha Mashinani party to fully join Jubilee.

“I ask my brother Isaac Ruto to disband his CCM party and join Jubilee party,” said the DP on Friday.

President Kenyatta said by persistently moving of the goal post on the repeat election, it showed that Odinga was prepared to deny Kenyans their democratic right to choose their leaders by forcing himself to power through the back door.

“The only way to stop him is if all of you will show him that you want peace, development and progress by turning out in large numbers to safeguard your supreme will on October 17,” President Kenyatta said when he addressed thousands of supporters at Litein on Friday.

The President added: “He (Odinga) should stop taking the country in circles Kenyans want to finish with the election and get back to building their beloved nation. And he should know that he cannot ascend to power through the back door.”
