Ex-Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto says it will be 'honour and grace' should President Uhuru Kenyatta appoint him to cabinet.
On Friday, Uhuru named a partial cabinet with 13 other slots expected to be filled in coming weeks.
And sharing platform on Saturday with his successor Joyce Laboso in Chepalungu, Ruto also insisted he shall work with the government whether or not he is nominated.
"The issue of nomination (cabinet) should not worry anyone. If I am lucky, it will be honour and grace to serve Kenyans," said the former governor.
He added: "I also want to assure you that I will work with Laboso. We have a good working relationship and all we want is peace and tranquility."
Moments after Uhuru was declared winner of August polls, Ruto, a fierce critic and one of opposition NASA principals, joined the Jubilee brigade.
However, his presence in public has been insignificant even with sources linking him with an appointment to cabinet.
