Former Bomet Governor Isaac Rutto has broken his silence, criticising the Jubilee government in the county.
This is after a section of Jubilee allied politicians in Bomet, accused him of undermining the incumbent county leadership for his political mileage.
Rutto who had pledged to support the leadership of his successor Joyce Laboso, now says Jubilee leaders in the region are frustrating him.
The former opposition's NASA coalition co-principal and Council of Governors (CoG) chairman said the Jubilee leaders in the South Rift county insult and provoke him whenever he tries to work with Laboso's government.
He cited incidents where he attends social events organised by the governor, saying his critics turn out to politicise his presence.
"People should not get scared of my presence in social events within the county. My supporters and CCM leaders have not made any move that shows we are seeking to undermine the current leadership," said the Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) party leader, on Sunday.
"We should instead respect one another and stop politicizing every issue," Rutto added during a church service in Sotik.
The former governor decamped NASA after losing his seat to Laboso during the August 8, 2017 polls, and pledged to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee government.
During swearing-in of Laboso, Rutto assured her and residents of Bomet that he would support Laboso's administration.
The former Chepalungu MP has since stayed out of national politics after he was floored.
