Former Athletics Kenya President Isaiah Kiplagat has died after a long battle with cancer.

The long serving athletics boss died on Wednesday morning at the Nairobi Hospital, his family members confirmed.

He is said to have battled with illness for long, with the last four months seeing his health deteriorate.

Kiplagat has died at the age of 72.
