Former Athletics Kenya (AK) president Isiah Kiplagt will be buried on Friday, nine days after he passed away.
According to AK CEO Susan Kamau, Athletics Kenya offices will remain closed in order to give employees enough time to celebrate the life of Kiplagat and relive some of the memories they shared with the deceased.
"Many of our staff are family people so they need to know how their families will run when they are away in Eldoret for the burial. That is why we gave them enough time to organize themselves," Kamau is quoted by Citizen tv.
Kamau added that a large number of mourners is expected to attend the burial that will take place in Kapseret, Eldoret.
"We are in constant communication with the family as we organize ourselves since we are also part of the family. We shall provide transport and make necessary arrangements for those willing to travel to Kapseret," added Kamau.
Kiplagat died at his Karen home while undergoing cancer treatment following a long battle with the disease.
He was aged 72 years-old at the time of his demise.
