Isiolo county commissioner George Natembeya has ordered Isiolo police officers to shoot and kill criminals.
This follows after residents decried increased crime in the county.
Natambeya said that crime activities have increased in the region following a latest attack on Saturday where gangsters killed a boda boda operator and injured his passenger.
"A criminal should not be spared due to the increased criminal activities in the county. Police officers should be alert and shoot any criminal since the officers are also in danger of being killed by the same criminals", he said.
The administrator noted that lives of innocent people will be lost through crime activities.
"Police should protect the people and their property. Those engaging in illegal activities should know that their days are numbered from today", he added.
He also warned that those owning illegal firearms and use them to terrorize residents will be arrested and prosecuted.
