The Police Department has alerted members of the public, of possible attacks by the Al-Shabaab and ISIS terrorist groups in various parts of the Country.
A statement from the Office of the Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet urged members of the public to remain vigilant ahead of the festive season, by reporting any suspicious persons and incidents, to the authorities.
Police said ISIS and Al-Shabaab terrorist groups are regrouping separately, along the Kenyan borders, targeting passenger vehicles along border towns, and Coastal regions such as Lamu and Mombasa Counties.
Other targeted areas include Wajir, Garissa and Mandera Counties in Northern Kenya.
"Daesh, also known as ISIS is equally among our major concern. Available information show that ISIS still continue to target our youths for recruitment on-line, but elaborate efforts have been employed to deal with the attempts of group to indoctrinate our youths,'' read Boinnet's statement in part, Tuesday.
The IG further assured Kenyans that police have intensified border patrols, and enhanced general security, to ensure everyone in the Country is safe from any attacks.
