Haifa University of Agricultural Innovation and Business Development from Israel are on a week long tour in the country mainly at Moi University.

The two are having discussions aimed at utilising unexploited land for economic prosperity and empowerment.

Scientists from the university visited Moi University on Tuesday to term up the development of over 400 hectares of flower farming and animal rearing in the university farm.

The leader of the delegation, who is the Head of the university, Hanna Alexander, described Kenya as an economic harbor and appraised Moi University for the good relations they have maintained with them.

The heads of Haifa University visited Moi university farm and industries to take samples of the soil and water from the proposed land.

The scientists and the Vice Chancellor of Moi University later on the day had a meeting with the Elgeyo Marakwet Governor, Alex Tolgos, at Kerio View Hotel for some more discussions on the matter.

The discussions continued on Tuesday at Boma Inn Hotel, Eldoret where a meeting was convened between the Moi University heads of schools and departments and Haifa University to collaborate on academic and research ties between the universities.

The meeting chaired by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic, Research and Extension, Prof Bob Washitemi, was termed as student-based that will lead to exchange programmes.

The meeting will see Moi University students visit Israel for exchange programme in different fields of study. Among the areas of collaborations are the undergraduate degrees, MBA, Masters, PhD and ICT technical trainings.

Discussions on the Israel integration to the Uasin Gishu County development especially on research and agribusiness enhancement are underway as the scientist were to meet Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago.
