IEBC chairman Issack Hassan has said they will only leave office once new commissioners are sworn in.
Commissioner Thomas Letangule, however, says the team is ready to go home.
Letangule said they have already resigned, but will wait until the new team comes in.
“The IEBC has a plan for the elections and the commissioners’ role is to supervise its implementation. The new team will continue with the plan,” said Letangule on Tuesday.
The IEBC commissioners have been under pressure from the opposition, led by Raila Odinga, to exit office by December 23, 2016.
Raila argues that the team might interfere with the preparations for the 2017 general election.
