Political Analyst Martin Andati has said it is archaic to jeer President Uhuru Kenyatta during public functions like the State of the Nation address expected on Wednesday.

Andati who has termed it as 'mediocrity of Kenyan leadership' has noted that the act was not sending a good message to the general public especially when done by the opposition..

"These MPs are supposed to give the President chance to deliver his state of the nation address uninterrupted because it is a constitutional obligation," Andati told a local TV station on Wednesday.

The analyst noted that the MPs are supposed to listen to the President's speech keenly to be able to debate and critique it later.

"If they do not listen to the President, what are they going to debate on the floor of the house in the coming 10 days? This behaviour must stop. Let them listen and critique the President later," says Andati.
