Kenyatta was Kenya's first president and closely worked with Raila's father, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.

On the other hand Raila is a celebrated political leader who has sacrificed a lot for this nation that his presence at the event alone, signified unity in a nation  that occasionally gets divided politically.

The effort invested by Kenyatta in fighting for Kenya's independence is almost the same effort employed by Raila in fighting for the countries second liberation.

Although some opposition supporters felt that Raila shouldn't have attended the event bearing in mind that he accused Uhuru of rigging the 2013 general election in his disfavour, his appearance at the service sounded a loud unity voice.

To a section of his supporters therefore, his attendance was a sign of betrayal.

I personally believe Raila should move away from the politics of divisionism and embrace togetherness for the benefit of the country.
