Nominated Member of Parliament Isaac Mwaura has described Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho as a ‘dangerous’ man.
Mwaura who ditched the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party for Jubilee Party said he does not trust Joho.
“Joho is a man who is extremely dangerous to work with. We are seeing a very dangerous leader who is not promising anything,” the MP said on Citizen Tv, Friday morning.
Homa Bay MP Peter Kaluma who was also present during the interview however dismissed Mwaura’s remarks.
“If Joho had any criminal case or activities he would be in jail,” Kaluma said.
“In ODM we nominated Mwaura yet there are better people around the country. Let us allow leaders to grow,” he added.
The Mombasa governor has recently shot to the limelight, leading most ODM campaigns.
He has pledged to lead Cord co-principal Raila Odinga’s presidential campaigns ahead of 2017 general election.
Joho, however, on Thursday dismissed reports that he will be Raila’s running mate come 2017.
He said he will defend his gubernatorial seat, which has also attracted interest from Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar.
