Speaking at Anglican Church Kisii yesterday, Maangi said that there is no political sin working with the government despite being Cord affiliates.

This comes after Maangi has been accused of working with Deputy president and betraying Cord in Kisii region.

"There is no political sin working with the government, the government is elected by the people and we need to work with it to bring development," said Maangi.

"The same way we need our county government to be respected is the same way we need to respect the national government if you need development work with those who are able to bring it not those who have nothing to give,” he added.

Maangi has also denied allegations which are associating him with wanting to be the deputy governor for Mr Charles Nyachae, he said Nyachae is a long time friend and there is no political relation between them.

"Those who are saying that I want to be the deputy governor of Nyachae Charles are misled, Nyachae is a long time friend we do meet and talk casually and there is no political connection between me and Nyanchae and if I will run for the gubernatorial seat I will go alone not to back up somebody else again," Maangi added.

Maangi has been speculated to having an interest in the gubernatorial seat despite not publicly declaring his interest.

It is just a few days after he was backed as the only spokesman by the people of Bomachoge.
