Opposition Chief Raila Odinga has dismissed claims that members of the outlawed Mungiki sect have been killing their supporters.
This is after reports that a secondary school boy in Kisumu was shot dead by a dreadlocked man in a police uniform during anti-IEBC protests.
The incident sparked widespread claims that the dreaded criminal Mungiki sect was out to hunt the Opposition supporters.
But speaking at Kamukunji Grounds, Wednesday, Raila refuted the allegations accusing police of killing innocent protesters.
"Those are not Mungiki but members of the police force who disguise themselves as Mungiki to massacre our people," the former Prime Minister told supporters.
The NASA leader further called on his supporters not to go to the streets over IEBC reforms so they can honour those who have been killed on Mashuja Day.
"We have seen how police are brutally killing our people but we shall not be intimidated by a police force. Kenya is a free country and must be ruled by law and constitutionalism, not jungle law," Raila said, as quoted by the Star.
