The heat in NASA has forced some of the four principals to revisit their age and plan retirement. This has majorly affected Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka who questioned why he should wait to lead Kenya yet he was 63.
The former vice president has repeated the age factor complaint by stating that he does not want to be in politics at the age of 80 like Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe who is still seeking re-election at 92.“My plan is not to be in leadership in my 80s” said Mr Musyoka as quoted by Daily Nation.Musyoka also said that he is the best opposition bet if NASA nominations will be carried out in a free and fair manner. He confirmed that the street judgment is that he is the man to smoke President Uhuru out of office.“If NASA nominations are done fairly and with the objective of wanting to beat Jubilee, ask the man in the streets who among us is able to beat Jubilee and raid its strongholds,” said Kalonzo. On national unity, Kalonzo believes that the current regime has polarized Kenyans ion tribal basis. He believes he will fight negative ethnicity if elected.“We need a leader who will unify the country and one who will bring down, in a very significant way, negative ethnicity,” he said.
