With almost 80 per cent of the votes counted, Mwangi is in a distant third behind ODM’s Steve Mbogo and Charles Njaguar, also known as Jaguar.

Jaguar is currently leading with 49,375 votes, representing 51 per cent of the total votes counted.

Mwangi, who was considered among the front runners in the race, took to his social media to thank all those who supported and voted for him, saying it has been worthwhile.

“I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who supported me in the race. My campaign team, who worked day and night to ensure we got this far. The thousands of Kenyans who funded my camping, thank you,” read the message.

“To all the Kenyans who voted for me, thank you for believing in me and demonstrating your hope for building a better Kenya. We ran an honest, innovate and revolutionary campaign,” he added.

The activist turned politician wowed many with his campaigns, choosing to get on the ground with the youth as opposed to campaigning with motorcades.
