The Secretary of Digital Innovations and DiasporaCommunications in the Office of the PresidentDennis Itumbi has responded to reports that he has been fired.
Through his social media, Itumbi singled out Sunday newspapers stating that the articles were not based on truth, rather fiction pieces.
"Sunday Newspapers are the home of gossip. Rumour and outright lies on test steroids, page to page - fiction writers hiding their creative falsehood by attributing their art to ghost sources manufactured in newsrooms and sometimes in bars," he tweeted on Sunday.
His sentiments came after a report was published in a local daily stating the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) had assumed a low profile following changes in the communications department.
The paper reported that President Uhuru Kenyatta had a new team of advisors.
Nation further reported that it was not business as usual at State House following the appointment of former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua as State House Comptroller.
“They would frequent State House or Harambee House with proposals on how to tame Raila, such trips would in the process earn them cash. This is not the case now since Raila is on the President’s side,” a source from the presidency told the Nation.
