Independent Presidential candidate Nazlin Umar has said she has a better development record than President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Speaking on NTV’s Side on Wednesday, Nazlin said that she has a lot to offer the country owing to her experience and record of working to better communities.

“I have done more for Kenyans than Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta. I have launched projects in the villages that have gone a long way to improve the livelihood of Kenyans using my own money,” said Nazlin.

“Due to my zeal and dedication, I have been fought by the government and my property confiscated by the government but I have stood strong.”

She noted that, if elected president, she would stick to one meal a day until all Kenyans have daily meals.

Nazlin further stated that she would seek to fight corruption by repossessing the wealth of anyone implicated in graft and sack those found guilty in the first two weeks.

“The Jubilee government has been playing ping pong with the welfare of Kenyans by disregarding the plight of the common mwananchi,” said Nazlin.

“This county needs change and I am better placed to ensure a turnaround in the ways things are done in government.”

She further stated that after the 2013 elections, she was tempted to join President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government but changed her mind after seeing the level of corruption and mismanagement of resources in government.

Nazlin ran for the same seat in 2007 but lost terribly, coming sixth with 8,624 votes. Mwai Kibaki was declared winner of the polls with Raila coming second, an announcement that sparked protests from several parts of the county.

Other candidates who are running for president include the incumbent Abduba Dida, Cyrus Jirongo, Joe Nyaga, Ekuru Okot, Peter Odeng, Michael Wainaina, Kennedy Mongare, Robert Juma, Japheth Kaviinga, Nixon Kukuboh, Joseph Musyoka, Erastus Nyamera, Stephen Owoko, David Munga and Peter Osotsi.
