Funyula MP Paul Otuoma has said he is rich enough to carry out his own campaigns without being financially helped.
Otuoma, who recently returned to ODM, two months after quitting his position as party Vice Chairman said he has adequate money to finance his own campaigns.
"The businesses I do are known," he said at an event in Busia on October 20.
"So I don't need any charity from anybody. I will conduct my campaigns myself. Anybody who wants to finance my campaigns or who wants to give me cars for campaigns, can save that money and buy drugs for hospitals."
The lawmaker is expected to challenge Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong for the seat of governor in 2017.
He has had a frosty relationship with the county chief for the last two years after accusing him of misappropriating county resources.
During his return to ODM during a burial ceremony in Siaya one month ago, he said he would contest for the seat of governor, Busia County.
He was received back to the party by ODM party leader Raila Odinga who is a close friend to Mr Ojaamong.
