Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has refuted claims that he bribes voters during campaigns.
Mutua who spoke during an interview with a local radio station on Wednesday said his politics is "clean" and as an individual, he has never thought of spending money in buying votes.
"The politics I play is clean, I don't spend money to get elected because my development record speaks for itself," Mutua said.
A Machakos Court on February 9, threw out August 8 Machakos Wiper gubernatorial candidate Wavinya Ndeti's petition against Governor Mutua over lack of evidence.
Wavinya's lawyer Willis Otieno had made a case for the nullification of the August 8 election of Mutua arguing it was not conducted in accordance with the principles of the Constitution.
Ndeti had claimed there were inconsistencies and irregularities in forms 37B that were used to declare Mutua the winner.
The petition filed by Ndeti came to an end last week after all the parties made their final oral submissions before Justice Aggrey Muchelule.
Mutua said now that the case against his re-election is over, his focus now is to work for the betterment of the lives of the people of Machakos.
He said his principal focus is to develop the healthcare, transport and water sectors.
