Ababu on Monday said he still respects Mr Odinga as an elder and a politician who has laboured to uplift the livelihoods of Kenyans.

"I respect Raila as I do other leaders," he said as he answered questions fielded by members of the Busia Political Forum.

"I would ask that we all strive to do the same. I have no personal issues with Hon Amolo Odinga. I quit my secretary-general position in ODM due to irreconcilable differences on how the party is managed, best exemplified by bungled Kasarani elections and deliberate schemes to emasculate the office of the SG."

Ababu quit his SG position in ODM two months ago citing frustration from a section of ODM's executive members.

After quitting the post, he formed a movement, 'Third Force', which he said aimed at uniting the Luhya community ahead of the 2017 elections.

He formed the movement alongside Funyula MP Paul Otuoma and Sirisia's John Waluke.

Otuoma has since returned to ODM and Waluke has joined President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee Party.

"May I also add that I have always had a cordial relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta," he added.

"I believe political rivalry does not and must never amount to enemity. Cordial relations with a rival is not about that mole jokes. It is just political maturity."

He one week after relaunching the Labour Party of Kenya which he intends to ride on in defending him parliamentary seat in 2017.

Mr Odinga during his tour of Western region shortly after Ababu's departure from the orange party told the outspoken legislator to return to the ODM.
